Questions we are asked

The practical answers, with the numbers we actually work to. Anything specific to your garment we cover in the consultation.

How much does a custom wedding dress cost in Jakarta?

We share pricing once a consultation is booked rather than publishing a figure here, because cost follows the design: silhouette, fabric, the amount of handwork, and how long the piece takes to make. After the first call you get a scope and a quote for your own garment rather than a range that may not apply to it. Payment is staged across the commission, and deposits are non-refundable.

How long does it take to make a custom wedding dress?

Six months is the comfortable timeline. Three to four months is the minimum we will take on, priced as express work and subject to capacity. The finished garment is handed over about two weeks before the event, and we hold a window up to a week before the date for last adjustments.

How many fittings will I need?

One sizing session and three fittings, so four visits in total. Wear thin, seamless foundation garments to each one, and try to hold a steady shape as the date approaches. Most problems that appear close to the day are fit problems rather than construction ones.

Do you work with couples outside Jakarta?

Yes. We work across Jabodetabek, which covers Jakarta, Tangerang, BSD, Bekasi, Depok and Bogor, and we have dressed couples marrying elsewhere in Indonesia and overseas. If you are further out, tell us where you are in the first message and we will work the arrangements out with you.

Is a custom gown different from renting one?

A rental is cut for a size and worn by many people. A custom garment is cut for your measurements, your ceremony and the way you move. Renting makes sense when the timeline is short or the budget is fixed. Custom makes sense when you want the fit and the design to be yours.

Can I bring my own fabric?

Yes. You can supply fabric yourself, or come with us on a sourcing trip and choose it together. Most people prefer the second, because weight and drape are much easier to judge in person. We will turn down material that will not survive being worn all day.

Do you make groom's suits and family attire?

Yes: groom's suits, kebaya, attire for the mothers and fathers of the couple, entourage looks, engagement and pre-wedding outfits, veils and accessories. There is no minimum order for family pieces.

How soon will you reply?

Within three days of your enquiry. If your date is close, say so in the first message and we will tell you quickly whether it is workable.

Still deciding?

A consultation costs you an afternoon and settles most of it: what suits you, what your date allows, and what the garment will cost to make.
